Duotime is a real stereo delay pedal with independent time / sub-division & repeat knobs. In the 80's, professional musicians used rack-mount effects to run stereo delay. It was the golden era of legendary engineering like the Lexicon Delta, TC 2290, Eventide H3000, and more. When we talked to working musicians, we found they were looking for a great stereo delay with a compact size and ultra-simple controls. So we developed the duotime Dual Delay Engine: ultra-musical and easy to operate.
Duotime offers analog delay, tape echo, digital delay, modulation delay, and verb delay.
Analog Delay (40ms~402ms) is based on the bucket-brigade device (BBD) discrete-time analog delay. The PARAMETER tweaks your modulation depth. When LEVEL and REPEAT are at maximum, turn the TIME knob down to zero and experience the natural infinite feedback of old-school BBD delay.
Tape Echo (55ms~552ms) is based on the RE-201 Tape Echo algorithm with NUX Core Image Technology. Use the PARAMETER to tweak the saturation and feel the distorted sound decay. Just like a real tape echo machine, adjust LEVEL and REPEAT to maximum and turn the time knob down to zero for infinite feedback and pitch-shift flange.
Digi Delay (80ms~1000ms) is based on a modern digital delay algorithm with magic compression and filter. We added a bit of non-digital flavor to make the sound much more musical. PARAMETER controls the hardness of the repeat signals, so you can feel the unique compressed filter.
Mod Delay (20ms~1499ms) is based on the Ibanez DML algorithm; a weird and wonderful modulation delay released in the 80's. We highlighted the musical time-sync modulation rate, offering a simple, seamless, romantic tone.
Verb Delay (80ms~1000ms) makes your delay sound 3-dimensional. Similar to our Atlantic Delay & Reverb, we added Shimmer into the Plate reverb algorithm. We combined parallel digital delay, plate reverb, and various filter shimmers to offer an unmatched, atmospheric sound. PARAMETER controls the Plate reverb and shimmer mix.
Control Panel
LEVEL Knob: Controls the delay mix level. In LOOP mode, the LEVEL knob becomes your LOOP LEVEL to control phrase loop volume.
Delay Type Selector: A 5-way rotary switch. Choose ANALOG, TAPE, DIGI, MOD., or VERB.
PARAMETER: For Analog Delay, controls Modulation Depth. For Tape Echo, controls signal saturation. For Digi Delay, controls signal hardness. For Mod Delay, controls Modulation Depth. For Verb Delay, controls Reverb and Shimmer mix level.
TIME 1: Controls delay 1's delay time. In Tap Tempo, it becomes a sub-division of the current parameter.
REPEAT 1: Controls delay 1's number of repeats.
TIME 2: Controls delay 2's delay time. In Tap Tempo, it becomes a sub-division of the current parameter.
REPEAT 2: Controls delay 2's number of repeats.
TAP Footswitch: Tap to adjust the speed and delay sub-division. Set the target sub-division with TIME 1 and TIME 2, then tap to adjust the speed. Hold for 2 seconds to switch the current delay time between MS and BPM.
OLED Display: Shows current delay type and delay time in MS/BPM.
LOOP Mode: Press ON and TAP simultaneously to enter/quit PHRASE LOOP mode. In LOOP mode, press ON to activate REC/PLAY/DUB and hold to UNDO/REDO. The OLED shows your phrase loop status.
I/O
IN 1 (MONO): If you connect only IN 1, the IN 1 signal runs DELAY 1 (TIME 1 / REPEAT 1) for OUT 1, and is copied to run DELAY 2 (TIME 2 / REPEAT 2) for OUT 2. If you connect IN 1 and IN 2, they run DELAY 1 for OUT 1 and DELAY 2 for OUT 2 separately.
IN 2: If you connect only IN 2, the IN 2 signal runs DELAY 2 for OUT 2 and is copied to run DELAY 1 for OUT 1.
OUT 1 (MONO): OUT 1 signal is related to DELAY 1.
OUT 2: OUT 2 signal is related to DELAY 2.
USB Port: Update firmware using the USB port.
DC Jack: Use ONLY 9V Negative Tip power with 300mA.
