The Animals Pedal Firewood Acoustic DI MKII is an active DI pedal for electric-acoustic guitars that demonstrates its power on live stages and recordings. Manufactured with analog and discrete circuits, it outputs to mixers and amplifiers without missing out on delicate expressions.
Although it is a simple and compact pedal, it is equipped with various functions. The powerful 3-band active equalizer allows you to adjust the tone to suit the song, the venue, and the characteristics of the guitar or power amp, offering a warm and balanced tone like classic nylon strings, or a crisp tone that complements vocals in an ensemble.
Three equalizers, HIGH, MID, and LOW, powerfully adjust the tone over a range of ±15dB, centered at 3.5kHz, 800Hz, and 180Hz, respectively. It is effective not only for sound creation, but also as a control that cuts unnecessary frequencies and suppresses feedback. Add crisp power and presence to your sound with the GAIN control for adding a touch of saturation.
The MUTE footswitch mutes the output at any time. The volume can be changed with the BOOST switch, letting you switch between lead and backing parts. Equipped with an effect loop, it is possible to apply effects such as chorus and delay. In addition, it is equipped with a balanced XLR output that can output the guitar directly to the mixer, and can also be driven with phantom power.
Control:
- LEVEL: Adjusts the overall volume.
- LOW: Adjusts the low range within a range of ±15dB centered at 180Hz.
- MID: Adjusts the midrange within a range of ±15dB, centered at 800Hz.
- HIGH: Adjusts the high range within a range of ±15dB centered on 3.5kHz.
- GAIN: Adjusts the output level and controls the overall saturation of the tone.
- INVERT: Inverts the phase.
- MUTE Footswitch: Mutes the output.
- BOOST footswitch: Increases volume. Boost level is constant.
- DC9VIN: Connect a standard center minus DC9V adapter.
- IN: Input. Connect the cable on the instrument side.
- SEND/RETURN: Effect loop. The effects loop is always active.
- OUT: Unbalanced out. Connect a cable to a guitar amplifier, etc.
- BAL/48V: Balanced out of XLR connector. Used when connecting to a mixer, etc. Also supplies phantom power.
