Epiphone continues its tradition of recreating iconic guitars inspired by historic designs with the ‘60s reverse-body icon, the Firebird. Launched in 1963, the Firebird’s automotive-inspired design, mini-humbuckers, and neck-through construction made it an instant hit. Epiphone’s take on the design honors the timeless appeal of the original with period-accurate appointments, including a 9-piece mahogany/walnut neck-through construction, lightweight mahogany wings, a SlimTaper C profile with a rosewood fretboard, and Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners. Sonically, a set of ProBucker FB720 humbucking pickups delivers high-output tones with undeniable vintage flavor suited to a variety of styles. The Firebird has long inspired players, and Epiphone’s modern take brings the legend to a new generation of guitarists.

The Firebird ushered in a slew of firsts for Gibson in 1963, with its neck-through construction and stylish automotive looks. Epiphone cut no corners when reimagining this guitar, using traditional 9-piece mahogany/walnut neck-through construction with mahogany wings, a ‘60s SlimTaper C profile, and a bound rosewood fretboard for a vintage-accurate look, incredible sustain, and maximum playability. Complete with the modern stability of Grover Mini Rotomatic Six-in-line tuners, a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a stopbar, the Epiphone Firebird successfully embodies the charm of the original while delivering the modern stability today's player demands.

The Firebird ProBuckers FB270 pickups shouldn’t be confused with similar mini-humbucker designs. Made specifically for the Firebird, these pickups feature a PAF construction that omits pole pieces in favor of two blade magnets positioned within the coils, along with a steel reflector plate for a sound all their own. The unique construction creates a tone that blends the best traits of single-coils and humbuckers, with a bright, responsive character, and tight low end. With its matched set of ProBucker FB270s, the Epiphone Firebird delivers the quintessential Firebird sound with the modern reliability contemporary guitarists demand.
