An overdrive pedal pushes your signal the way a tube amp breaks up when you turn it up: warm, touch-sensitive grit that cleans up when you play softly or roll back your guitar's volume. Low-gain overdrives work as an always-on "amp in a box"; others stack into a cranked amp or another drive for solos.
We carry overdrives from Boss, JHS, Keeley, Catalinbread, Wampler, Tone City, Electronic Audio Experiments, Benson and more, new and used. Want more gain? See distortion and fuzz, or shop used overdrive pedals.
Everything ships from our shop in Leominster, Massachusetts, most orders the same or next business day. Shipping is free on orders of $29 or more, and you have 30 days to return.
What's the difference between overdrive, distortion and fuzz? Overdrive is the mildest and most responsive to your playing, distortion is heavier and more compressed, and fuzz clips the signal hardest for a thick, saturated sound.
Where does an overdrive go on my board? Usually early: after your tuner, compressor and wah, and before modulation, delay and reverb. Our Pedal FAQ covers pedal order in detail.
