A distortion pedal gives more gain and sustain than an overdrive, with a tighter, more compressed sound: classic rock crunch, heavy rhythm tones and singing leads, whatever amp you plug into.

We stock distortions from Boss, ProCo (the RAT), Wampler, Catalinbread, Death By Audio, Walrus Audio, Darkglass for bass, and more, new and used. Also see overdrive and fuzz.

Everything ships from our shop in Leominster, Massachusetts, most orders the same or next business day. Shipping is free on orders of $29 or more, and you have 30 days to return.

Do I need a distortion pedal if my amp has a gain channel? Not always, but a pedal gives you a second voice to switch to, and keeps your sound the same on any amp you play through.

Will a distortion pedal work on bass? Many thin out the low end. Bass distortions, like Darkglass, keep it; see bass effects.
